At Community Counseling Center of Southern Nevada, our skilled staff is adept at identifying and treating an array of mental health challenges. Family and Adolescent Programs

Community Counseling Center provides a suite of tailored programs designed to support adolescents aged 12-17, along with their families and caregivers. Our holistic approach encompasses mental health and substance use counseling, psychosocial support services, and classes to enhance parenting skills. We offer both individual and group counseling, focusing on areas critical to the well-being of adolescents and their parents, such as:

Substance Abuse and Co-Occurring Disorders

Community Counseling Center delivers a holistic and intensive approach to those facing co-occurring disorders, recognizing the intricate link between mental health challenges and substance use. For individuals navigating this complex dual diagnosis, we offer tailored treatment plans which may include a 3- or 5-day program based on the severity of their condition. Within these programs, clients engage in a blend of individual and group counseling sessions multiple times per week, focusing on evidence-based methodologies and education on the nature of mental health disorders, symptoms, and addiction progression.

Our treatment is not only about confronting substance use and its negative impact on mental health but also about fostering medical compliance, recognizing triggers—both emotional and physical—and developing robust coping mechanisms alongside a thorough relapse prevention strategy. It's imperative for all clients in these programs to be actively involved in psychiatric care, with referrals available to support this requirement.

In addition, we offer a broad spectrum of SAPTA-certified services that form a continuum of care for those struggling with Substance Use Disorders and addictions. This comprehensive care pathway includes early intervention, addiction education, various levels of outpatient services—including Intensive Outpatient (5-day) and Level 1 Outpatient (3-day) programs—and aftercare. Our counselors are highly trained and credentialed, equipped to provide not just substance use treatment but also concurrent mental health services.

To ensure that our services are accessible to all, telehealth options are available, allowing clients to receive the support they need in a manner that suits their circumstances.   • Case Management

    Community Counseling Center provides Case Management to all clients at the onset of treatment, and the service may be ongoing as needed. Additionally, clients may access CCC’s Resource Room if they are in need of clothing, shoes, toiletries, or other basic necessities. Medical Case Management is available to any Ryan White Part A-funded clients who meet eligibility criteria. General Case Management services include:

    Applying for health insurance/Medicaid

    Finding a medical provider

    Applying for a Social Security Card

    Building a resume or searching for jobs

    Developing job interview skills

    Obtaining an outfit for a job interview

    Earning a GED or linkage to vocational training

    Locating daycare for children

    Paying for housing/utilities

    Securing food for yourself or your family

    Referrals to other community organizations

  • Serving Trauma Survivors

    Community Counseling Center extends a comprehensive array of services tailored specifically for people suffering from severe trauma, addressing the unique challenges faced by those who have experience it. Recognizing the prevalence and impact of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-induced conditions, our center prioritizes accessible, specialized treatment plans that cater to the intricacies of this condition. Clients can engage in a supportive and understanding environment where both individual and group therapy sessions are available, focusing on trauma-informed care and evidence-based treatment modalities.

    Our programs for are designed to facilitate healing from the psychological and emotional scars of of trauma recovery, integrating techniques to manage symptoms of PTSD such as anxiety, flashbacks, and social isolation. These services are delivered by counselors who are not only well-versed in the latest treatment strategies but also sensitive to the cultural and personal experiences of clients.   • Community Health

    Community Counseling Center provides a supportive and compassionate array of services to individuals living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, fostering an environment where the emphasis is on enhancing social support, psychological resilience, and overall wellness. Understanding the multifaceted challenges presented by HIV/AIDS, the center offers specialized counseling to those directly dealing with the virus and extends its support to friends, family, and caregivers impacted by a loved one’s diagnosis.

    For those navigating the complexities of healthcare eligibility, our case management services offer vital assistance with programs like Ryan White and HOPWA, ensuring that clients have access to the care and resources they need. The center prides itself on a foundation of confidentiality and sensitivity, guaranteeing a secure space for individuals to seek assistance and express themselves freely.

    Our tailored services encompass a variety of programs and initiatives designed to empower and educate. "The Living Room" offers a relaxed and supportive environment for open dialogue and community building, while our "Living with Chronic Disease" and "Positive Self-Management" programs provide clients with strategies to manage their health proactively. Our "Health Education & Risk Reduction Classes" aim to inform and minimize the risk of further health complications, and our "Think Tank" sessions promote innovative problem-solving strategies tailored to the unique challenges faced by those with HIV/AIDS.

  • HIV Services

    Community Counseling Center proudly offers comprehensive HIV services, anchored by our free confidential rapid HIV testing, which is open to all individuals. Our tests are administered by certified testing specialists, ensuring that you receive professional and discreet care. We understand that waiting for results can be a time of anxiety, which is why we provide results within approximately 15 minutes of testing. This swift process is designed to give you peace of mind and immediate access to the necessary support and resources, regardless of the outcome.

    To facilitate these services, we ask that individuals interested in getting tested come with a Photo ID. As an incentive to promote health and well-being within the community, qualifying participants may be eligible to receive a $10 gift card after the testing process.

    Importantly, access to our HIV testing services is not limited to clients already engaged with CCC. We open our doors to anyone in need, emphasizing our inclusive ethos. Our services extend beyond testing to include a comprehensive package of support, which encompasses referrals to appropriate care and resources, personalized health education, and risk reduction counseling. Additionally, we provide safe sex kits to encourage and facilitate safer sexual practices within our community.
